Kristen, one of my favorite parts of traveling is getting out and doing stuff. Like outdoor stuff. Like active stuff. Like workouts in the coolest of places. My most recent workout adventure? Yoga in Millennium Park in Chicago. Part of the
BlogHer activities, Yasso (you know how much
I love to lasso a Yasso!) hosted the event for bloggers --- and a lot of us turned out to get our "om" on.

The class began in a slight drizzle, which doesn't sound pleasant, but it actually was. Nice and cool out, the grass was super green, and we had the BEST location to do yoga. Surreal, in fact, being surrounded by trees and the amazing Chicago skyline. A nice gentle hour of hatha yoga, we did some sun salutations, planks, down dogs, warriors, tree pose and --- everyone's favorite --- shavasana.
The instructor was great, by the end of the class the drizzle stopped, and I left feeling refreshed and alive. I've written before about how research has actually shown that
getting outdoors does all kinds of good things like boost mood and decrease anxiety and I actively go for jogs and such outside, but outdoor yoga --- while in a city for work? Well, I don't get out and do that very often. But clearly I should; it's awesome. In fact, I may make a point to try it every time I travel.
Now, want to play a fun game? It's called "Find Jenn in the Photos!" Hint: I'm wearing
this exact outfit. (Told you it was one of my faves!)

I ended class by trying a new Yasso flavor --- coconut. Guys, it's awesome.
Do you ever do yoga outdoors? Do you seek out a yoga class when you travel? Do tell! ---Jenn
